World Youth Skills Day, observed annually on July 15, celebrates the importance of equipping young people with skills for employment and entrepreneurship. Recognized by the United Nations, this day highlights the vital role that education and training play in shaping the future of young people around the world.
At TP, we believe in empowering the next generation to lead with confidence, creativity, and curiosity. As we approach World Youth Skills Day, we’re proud to spotlight a recent TP Women initiative in Colombia that brought this mission to life.
Held on May 17, the “AI Power Girls: Digital Entrepreneurs” workshop welcomed 74 girls aged 6 to 15 to explore the exciting world of technology and entrepreneurship. Through engaging activities, participants discovered the basics of innovation, business creation, and digital tools, planting the seeds for future careers in tech and leadership.
The initiative introduced young girls to digital skills and showed them what is possible. By encouraging imagination and building confidence, we created a space where girls could see themselves as tech creators, founders, and changemakers.
Recognizing the vital role families play in building self-belief, the event also hosted simultaneous workshops for parents and guardians. These sessions equipped them with practical tools to support their daughters’ educational journeys and personal growth. With the support of 13 passionate TP volunteers, the event left a positive and lasting impact on both the girls and their families, reaching a total of 56 relatives.
TP Women is our global initiative dedicated to uplifting women’s voices, fostering inclusion, and driving positive change. Through mentorship, advocacy, and professional development opportunities, the program promotes equal opportunities and empowers women to thrive in every stage of their careers.
