The Mandarin Interpreter is a WORK FROM HOME position and is responsible for handling telephone or video calls on demand and renders meaning of conversations in the consecutive mode of interpretation between speakers of Mandarin/Cantonese and English. She/he processes information quickly and concisely, recognizes sensitive cultural differences, and is professional and courteous at all times.

The Mandarin interpreter will use appropriate industry terminology and understands common industry procedures and practices.

The calls may involve simple or complex, non-technical or technical subjects in Healthcare, Government,  Insurance, Finance, Utilities, Travel and Hospitality, 911 emergency services, Law Enforcement, Courts, and General Business.

Responsibilities

• Provide strict renditions of the messages including every detail of the conversation,
  and is prepared for challenging calls at any time
• Employ good customer service and communication skills, clear enunciation,
  pronunciation, pleasant and professional voice, as well as polite forms of expressions

• Able to explain certain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication with the permission or at
  request of the client

Qualifications

• Native Fluency in Mandarin and English
• Able to work in 24/7 rotational shift (5 working days/week), majority of the work
  schedules falls on night/graveyard shift
• Minimum Education qualification: Completion of High School Education
• Have thorough knowledge of Medical and other industry terminologies would be an added advantage
• Education in languages/ translation/ interpretation and/or healthcare-related fields is preferred
• Have stable Internet connection
