TP, Muntinlupa City Technical Institute ink partnership for industry learning program

05.09.2025

Muntinlupa City, September 5, 2025 TP, a global leader in digital business services, recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Muntinlupa City Technical Institute (MCTI) and the Muntinlupa City Government to implement the Supervised Industry Learning (SIL) program. This agreement formalizes the strategic industry-academe partnership between TP and MCTI, an educational institution specializing in technical and vocational education.

Representing TP in the Philippines were Vice President of Human Resources Rachel Cacabelos and Marketing Director for External Relations Nash Frias. They were joined by MCTI Officer-In-Charge Director Michelle Licudine and Muntinlupa City Mayor Rozzano Rufino Biazon.

Through the MOA, MCTI trainees will gain real-world industry exposure and hands-on experience with leading companies such as TP. The partnership ensures that SIL training is aligned with the current demands of the global labor market, helping trainees become job-ready, globally competitive, and equipped with the right skills and attitude for potential careers at TP and within the IT-BPM industry.

The MOA also stipulates that TP will give priority to MCTI graduates and SIL trainees applying for jobs at the organization. TP will participate in all job fairs sponsored by MCTI and/or its associated academic institutions, both on and off campus. Additionally, TP will conduct career talks, workshops, trainings, seminars, TP site tours, and mock interviews. In turn, the Muntinlupa City Government will highlight TP’s job openings on its web-based job search portal.

This partnership strengthens TP’s Launchpad program, the organization’s flagship university relations initiative. It creates opportunities for MCTI students to gain industry-ready skills, access mentorship, and explore career pathways within the IT-BPM sector. The collaboration also aims to contribute to Muntinlupa City’s local economy by boosting employment in the IT-BPM sector.

Mayor Biazon emphasized the importance of strong public-private partnerships to support local talent, while TP leaders reaffirmed the company’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of professionals.

“Building a strong talent pipeline is at the heart of our work in Human Resources, and this partnership with MCTI is a powerful step forward. By giving students real-world training and a clear pathway to employment, we are not just investing in their future, but in the future of the IT-BPM industry itself. We are excited to welcome the next generation of talent and help them launch meaningful careers right here in Muntinlupa City,” said Jeffrey Johnson, Chief People Officer of TP in the Philippines.

This recent partnership is one of multiple government-academe-industry collaborations TP has participated in. Last June, the company signed a MOA with the Bacolod City Government and the Bacolod City College (BCC) for the latter’s adoption of the @SENSO Life Skills Academy Training Program. Earlier this year, TP also signed a MOA with the State University of Northern Negros (SUNN), establishing a strategic partnership under TP Launchpad. These initiatives demonstrate TP’s ongoing commitment to nurturing local talent and building stronger academic-industry linkages.

“This partnership allows us to create a direct, effective pipeline for new talent, ensuring MCTI trainees receive the hands-on, industry-specific training they need to be job-ready from day one. Our goal is to connect skills with opportunity, and this program is a vital step in making that a reality for Muntinlupa's youth,” added Cacabelos.
