Through our Citizen of the Planet (COTP) program, TP continues to lead the way in creating a better and greener world for all.
TP launched COTP in 2008 with a goal to make environmentally responsible business practices part of our DNA. We’re just as committed today to education, carbon emission reduction, and other actions to protect our planet.
In 2024, our COTP initiatives have led to measurable progress:
- GHG reductions: A 49% reduction of Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in absolute terms from 2019 to 2024
- Renewable energy: 47% of our energy consumption in 2024 came from renewable resources, with targets to increase the share of renewable energy to at least 50% by 2026 and to 80% by 2030
- Recycling initiatives: Over 64,000 pieces of IT equipment were recycled or donated in 2024, exemplifying our commitment to circular economic practices
We are on our way towards our vision of a greener world, having planted more than 525,000 trees in partnership with One Tree Planted to support global reforestation.
With 35% of our global workforce working remotely, TP is making progress on sustainability goals while maintaining business efficiency.
By aligning with the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) and committing to the Climate Pledge, TP has adopted goals consistent with the Paris Agreement. SBTi is a corporate climate action organization that enables companies and financial institutions worldwide to play their part in combating the climate crisis, developing tools and standards to help companies set GHG reduction targets. We aim to reduce our Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 56.7% by 2030 from a 2019 baseline, and reduce Scope 3 GHG emissions by 27.5% in the same timeframe.
Furthermore, as one of the first 100 signatories of the Climate Pledge, we intend to reach net-zero carbon emissions in our operations by 2040.
For our efforts, TP has achieved the Verego certification under the Social Responsibility Standard (SRS) in 2024 for leadership, community, ethics, people, and environment. This marks the 11th consecutive year that we’ve received this certification.
