As a Force of Good, TP is dedicated to environmental causes and giving back to communities. Since 2022, we have partnered with One Tree Planted to plant trees across five regions globally. We are excited to share that we have planted over 520,000 trees, with 20,000 of those being contributions from our dedicated employees.

Recently, we had the opportunity to visit one of our planting sites, the historic Leiria Pine Forest, which sadly faced a devastating wildfire in 2017.

The Leiria Pine Forest has been a living testament to Portugal's legacy. Spanning centuries, the forest has supported ecosystems, nurtured biodiversity, and provided livelihoods for local communities. The Leiria Pine Forest in Portugal holds historical significance and practical value. Its groves protect farmlands and safeguard the medieval town of Leiria.

But in 2017, disaster struck, and the forest was devastated by wildfires, leaving a mark on the landscape—and the hearts of those who call it home. Sadly, in just 24 hours, 90% of this natural treasure was destroyed during the wildfires. 

Our latest CSR documentary, “TP and One Tree Planted: Restoring Life through Reforestation” features One Tree Planted’s efforts in restoring the Leiria Pine Forest—a vital ecosystem deeply tied to Portugal's culture, history, and sustainability. With help from One Tree Planted and TP’s Citizen of the Planet, reforestation goes beyond planting trees: the forest anchors the soil, supports water retention, and rebuilds a habitat for native wildlife. Each tree planted contributes to repairing the damage caused by climate change and helps reduce the intensity of future wildfires.

By restoring this ecological landmark, we are preserving Portugal’s natural heritage while addressing the importance of ecological conservation worldwide.
