Key Responsibilities:
- Production support and maintenance of multisite Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops deployments
- Make engineering recommendations for Citrix environment growth, scalability, upgrades and performance
- Provide performance tuning and health assessment of all virtualization related objects (virtual machines, hypervisors, storage)
- Perform root-cause analysis and document resolution of support cases
- Deploy infrastructure software including new builds, upgrades and patches
- Mentor helpdesk and desktop support teams on how to troubleshoot Citrix issues
- Develop and maintain process and procedures documentation.
- Assist in development and maintenance of policies and guidelines for the virtualized desktop computing environment
- Assist in development of new desktop builds following customer requirements
- Research technical solutions, as directed by department management, to enhance or improve the support capabilities of 1st and 2nd level desktop support teams
- Perform standard system administration as necessary to support environment and conduct research on emerging products, tools, services, protocols, strategies, best practices and standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or any related course.
- 24 x 7 uptime requirements. May be part of an on-call rotation and may need to be available to work after hours and weekends, as required.
- Ability to work alone as well as with other team members in the group, as well as external teams.
- Experience in hardware provisioning, installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of networking, servers, workstations, operating systems, and applications.
- 3+ years' of proven experience with virtualization technologies, especially where it relates to VDI deployments. Proven experience with large scale, multi-site Citrix deployments.
- Expert knowledge in all Citrix products, such as Virtual Apps and Desktops.
- 4+ years' of experience as a Citrix administrator.
- Good understanding of networking, including Ethernet, switches, TCP/IP, VLANs and network configuration and firewalls.
- Strong multi-tasking skills. Ability to work on high-visibility tasks and complete them independently or with a team in a timely fashion with good documentation.
- Experience with monitoring systems including security services, load monitoring, system resiliency, clustering, etc. Working knowledge of SNMP, WMI, etc.
- Experience with desktop builds, including security hardening and optimization.
- Strong troubleshooting skills on Operating Systems, Active Directory, Client developed applications
- Strong experience in Active Directory design, policies, troubleshooting, etc.
- Experience in software installation and unattended scripting, Windows Updates, antivirus, workstation image maintenance, etc.
- PBX and VOIP experience (Avaya, etc.) a strong plus
- Thin Clients
- Linux administration
- Industry Certs, i.e. Citrix/Nutanix/Microsoft
- Nutanix Hyperconverged Technology including AHV
- Scripting knowledge and experience
- Azure or AWS experience
- AVD/WVD/365, Workspaces experience
