Climate change is one of the most pressing challenges of our time, affecting every facet of our lives. TP acknowledges and understands our responsibility to take immediate action to protect the planet and future generations.
Our commitment to creating a better and fairer world for all continues to be reinforced through Citizen of the Planet (COTP). Since 2008, COTP has taken various strides in taking care of the environment—in 2011[1], TP become a signatory to the UN Global Compact, a non-binding United Nations pact to get businesses and firms worldwide to adopt sustainable and socially responsible policies. Ten years later[2], we became one of the first 100 signatories to The Climate Pledge, a coalition of companies partnering towards carbon neutrality by 2040. In 2021[3], we also aligned our carbon reduction targets with the <2°C trajectory approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)*.
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a corporate climate action organization that enables companies and financial institutions worldwide to play their part in combating the climate crisis.
To strengthen our ambition and commitment to the planet, TP submitted new targets for 2030, which include Majorel and are based on the 1.5°c scenario. 1.5°C-aligned target is currently the most ambitious designation available through the SBTi process. Today, we are thrilled to share that we have received final validation from the SBTi for our new 2030 carbon reduction targets.
"TP SE commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 56.7% by 2030 from a 2019 base year. Teleperformance SE also commits to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions by 27.5% within the same timeframe."
