TP and the United Nations Global Compact: 15 Years of commitment

Global Goals Week¹ brings people together around the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. The Goals offer a shared framework for creating a more sustainable world and improving life for people everywhere.

TP’s commitment extends across all 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The full framework includes:

In 2026, TP marks 15 years as a signatory of the United Nations Global Compact², the United Nations’ corporate sustainability initiative. TP has participated since 2011 and reports annually on progress. 

The milestone reflects TP’s long-term commitment to responsible business practices and sustainable development. During Global Goals Week, we will focus on five local stories that show how this commitment takes shape.

Five Goals, five local stories

Goal 1: No Poverty

The United Nations defines Goal 1 as ending extreme poverty for all people everywhere. Its fast facts identify social protection and inclusive economic opportunity as part of the response.

For 20 years, TP in the USA has partnered with Feed the Children to support children and families facing hardship. Food resource rallies have brought practical support to communities across the country.

Goal 5: Gender Equality

Gender equality remains a foundation for a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable world. The United Nations notes that women in the labor market earn 23% less than men globally on average.

At TP Tanta in Egypt, women can build careers in their hometowns. The site’s women led management structure and internal career growth create a context for personal stories of progression.

Norhan Basem joined TP Tanta as an agent in December 2023. Within a year, she became the first team manager for a newly launched client program. Her story reflects the career opportunities the site can create for women in Tanta.

Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth

This goal promotes inclusive economic growth, employment, and decent work for all. Decent work means productive employment that provides a fair income, workplace security, and opportunities for personal development.

The latest UNHCR Global Trends report³ documents the scale of forced displacement worldwide. This context makes access to work and employability especially relevant for people rebuilding their lives. 

TP Women Refugees gives women the space to share their own experiences of work, employability, and economic inclusion. The series brings a human perspective to the idea that work can create a path forward.[

Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities

Reducing inequalities means expanding access to opportunities for people who too often face barriers. The United Nations links reducing inequality with investment in education, skills, social protection, and decent jobs.

TP’s partnership with UNICEF supports education work for children in vulnerable communities. UNICEF’s State of the World’s Children 2025 examines child poverty across the essentials of life, including education, health, nutrition, sanitation, and clean water.

TP for UNICEF’s 2025 Education Thematic Report shares results from Brazil, the Philippines, and Ghana. It reflects the value of supporting work that helps widen access to learning and opportunity.

Goal 13: Climate Action

Protecting ecosystems and communities already feeling its effects starts with locally rooted solutions. They build resilience where it matters most for the future.

Since 2022, TP has partnered with Fundación Al Verde Vivo to support ecological restoration in Colombia’s Bogotá River basin. The Water Guardians initiative focuses on planting native species in ecosystems connected to the river’s source. 

The initiative was recognized at the 2026 COTW Awards. Its story shows how local restoration can connect people with the places they share. 

The week ahead

From September 19 to 27, TP will share the five stories above across its channels. Each post will introduce a local initiative and the people who give it meaning. Those initiatives show that the Goals become meaningful through sustained action by TP people and its partners and through work that responds to local realities.

For COTW Ambassadors, the week will include resources and local actions connected to each selected Goal. Teams will be invited to share their own stories and take part in activities that respond to the needs of their communities. 

Fifteen years as a United Nations Global Compact signatory is a milestone. The responsibility behind it continues beyond one week.
